VACANCY FOR A PART-TIME KS2 CLASS TEACHER AT GREAT OUSE PRIMARY ACADEMY

We are looking for a new Key Stage 2 Class Teacher to join our committed, friendly staff and growing Academy in September 2023.

VACANCY FOR A PUPIL AND FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER
AT GREAT OUSE PRIMARY ACADEMY
Salary: Grade 8, Point 19 - 24, £19,369.01 - £21,627.06 actual earnings (£27,852 - £31,099 FTE)
Hours of work: 30 hours per week, 4 days per week, 39 weeks per year (term time + 5 training days)
Start date: Monday 5th June 2023 or as soon as possible
We are seeking to appoint a skilled practitioner to manage, implement, and review the strategy for family work within Great Ouse Primary Academy. You will plan and deliver practical support, advice and guidance to vulnerable children and their families to reduce the level of risk they face. This includes responsibility for pupil attendance, safeguarding and pupil/family support.
The successful candidate will have significant knowledge of safeguarding policies, procedures, and practices, together with experience of working with a range of agencies and professionals. They will also have experience of working in an education environment with young people with specific difficulties and vulnerabilities, or those in need of early help support.
The Opportunity
✓ Act as deputy designated safeguarding lead for the academy, overseeing the child protection work and cause for concern records for the whole academy.
✓ Support families to be the best parents they can be so that they are able to support their child’s learning and wellbeing.
✓ With colleagues, help identify factors affecting an individual students’ wellbeing and behaviour within the academy and at home and to facilitate appropriate interventions with other professionals and agencies where necessary.
✓ Act as a role model and establish a clear framework for discipline in line with established policies, anticipate and manage behaviour to promote students’ self-control and independence to ensure good behaviour and respect for others are maintained.
✓ Develop home / academy links to encourage good communication between the academy and families.
The ideal candidate
✓ Has experience of working with children pastorally across all key stages (EYFS, KS1, KS2) with evidence of having achieved successful student outcomes.
✓ Understands the education system, how children learn and has a good knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
✓ Able to work closely with students and families who are finding learning difficult, or those who have experienced a feeling of failure. While developing children’s self-esteem and motivation so that they become resilient, independent learners.
✓ Is a positive, enthusiastic, and compassionate individual.
