Great Ouse Primary Academy, Bedford, opened as a brand new school in September 2017, originally with a pre-school, Reception year and year 1 and 2 classes. This has now grown to include students up to year 4. The school will eventually grow to 420 pupils and be two-form entry.

In addition, Great Ouse Primary Academy is part of the very successful Sharnbrook Academy Federation (SAF). This is a multi-academy trust made up of five excellent member academies, which has a commitment to excellence in education and puts student progress at the heart of all it does. SAF has an outstanding reputation and provides a strong support network and a variety of opportunities for staff in each of its academies.
This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding and experienced classroom practitioner to teach in Y5 who has excellent knowledge and understanding of the curriculum. You must be able to demonstrate commitment and passion for education through raising standards and introducing new initiatives including planning and delivering the outstanding learning opportunities for our children. The successful candidate will closely liaise with all staff, parents and outside agencies to ensure best outcomes for all children.
Positivity and a sense of humour are essential alongside expert knowledge of the Primary curriculum, resilience, creativity, commitment and professionalism. We would like you to be able to foster a nurturing learning environment where there are high expectations for all children and to be committed to your own professional development and continuing to grow within your role. Experience and the ability to take on a Subject Leadership role is desirable.
